South Woodham Evangelical Church
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to be a community of the people of God, filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit, working to make disciples for Christ.
There has been a church building on our site in Hullbridge Road since 1931. Originally opened as the ‘Assembly Mission Hall’, its congregation became affiliated to a country-wide evangelical organisation in 1945 and by the end of the 1960s had changed it name to South Woodham Ferrers Evangelical Church. The original hall was replaced by today’s building in 1984.
In 2003 we joined the Baptist Union of Great Britain and although we retain the ‘evangelical church’ label, we are your local Baptist Church.
